Desktop virtualization refers to software
that separates the physical desktop environment and applications from the
clients used to access it. This is generally aided by solutions that virtualize
desktops and manage user profiles like you might use for specific purposes like
for managing finances or other company operations. Desktop applications are in
their own right also received by a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure - VDI's which
receive the original desktop applications so as to allow them to be used on any
given client or physically connected device or computer.
